Bone Broth Mac n Cheese
Ingredients:
12 oz package of gluten free, organic pasta of choice (jovial is a great brand)
3 quarts of filtered water
1 scoop of organic chicken bone broth powder*
3 tablespoons of unsalted pastured butter
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1 cup of shredded raw cheddar cheese
Directions:
In a large pot, add water and bone broth powder then whisk/stir to combine.
Bring pot to a boil and then cook pasta according to package instructions (about 12 minutes).
Drain pasta leaving about 2 tablespoons of the broth water and then return to cooking pot.
Add butter, sea salt and cheese and mix together until ingredients have melted together.
Serve immediately.
Notes:
You may use regular organic bone broth (home made or pre-bought) instead of the powder if you do not have on hand. This powder is a wonderful way to add to many different dishes with the benefits of bone broth (storage is much easier too!).
Optional: add sautéed organic spinach on top or on the side (pictured).
For more protein: add some grilled chicken on the side or in the pasta!
*Always use local, organic ingredients whenever possible.
