During the #localthirty challenge this month of September I was craving something sweet and missing anything chocolate. So I decided to round up some local ingredients and try out a simple, fast dessert that would satisfy that sweet tooth!
Sautéed Pears with Honey
Ingredients
2 cups of peeled and sliced pears (or 2 large pears)
2 tablespoons of grass-fed butter
1/2 cup of local, raw honey
Directions
On a low simmer, melt butter in saucepan on the stovetop
Add pears and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft
Add honey and sauté until golden brown and thickens
Be sure to constantly stir and do not put a lid on the pan
Notes/Variations
I like to add some homemade honey whipped cream on top of this dish when serving!
Those #dairyfree can absolutely substitute coconut oil or ghee in place of butter.
Enjoy!
**Please use organic and natural ingredients whenever possible.
